Competition to Name Hub Header Image

A new information hub is being created at the heart of Arrowe Park Hospital and people across the Wirral community are being asked to come up with a name for it.

Wirral University Teaching Hospital has launched a competition for people to name our new information and advice hub in which the winning entry will receive an iPad Mini, courtesy of Cerner (the information technology company we partner with).

This newly created area will provide a highly visible and easily accessible location for patients, families, visitors and staff to access support. It will display a range of important information as well as a quiet area for users to discuss private or sensitive matters.

It will also be the new home for members of the  Patient Relations team, who will be on hand offering advice, support and reassurance.

Alison Quinn WEBCommunity partners Healthwatch, the independent consumer champion for health and social care services, will play an extremely important role in providing visitors with advice and support and they will be based in the hub Monday to Friday.

Education and advice sessions will be available from members of hospital staff who are committed to the health and wellbeing of our patients and the local community, including those from our Stop Smoking and Substance Misuse Services.

A variety of resources will also be available for our community carers, including advice and support in relation to those living with dementia.

Visitors, patients and staff may have noticed that work has already started on refurbishing the new area, which is located in the main lift lobby of Arrowe Park Hospital.

Associate Director of Nursing, Alison Quinn, who is Head of Patient Experience (pictured), said: “This will be a thriving hub of communication activity located at the very heart of the hospital that will benefit our patients, visitors and our staff.

“We have listened to our patients and their families who have often said they would like to have an easily accessible, centrally based hospital location where they can obtain important information and advice in a timely manner and to speak with members of staff face to face.

“We are asking patients, visitors and staff for their help in naming this area that has been developed with them in mind.”

The name can be no more than four words long and the deadline for entries is 11pm, Sunday, 20th November.

Please fill in the online form, which can be accessed from the front page of the wuth.nhs.uk website.

Entrants are encouraged to think about the Trust’s PROUD values and the care that the hospital provides for patients, as well as the range of services that will be available in the hub, when thinking of a name.
