Art Blur APH ChapelA touching memorial service for anyone who has lost a baby will be held in Wirral on 18th May.

Wirral University Teaching Hospital’s service is organised every year by neonatal nursing staff who recognised the need to give people who have lost a child a chance to remember their babies with others who have been through similar, painful situations.  With readings from medical staff, along with music and time for reflection, the memorial is open to anyone who has endured the loss of a little loved one.

Linda Renmans, who has been involved with organising the event for many years, said: “The last thing that expectant and new parents dream of is saying goodbye to their precious baby. An early or late miscarriage, an ectopic or molar pregnancy, babies born asleep or any other type of baby or child loss is devastating to those involved and this service offers an opportunity to be with other people who understand how it feels. Whether the loss is recent or many years ago and whether you are a grieving mum, dad, relative or friend, everyone is welcome to attend.”

The service will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday 18th May in the chapel on the first floor of Arrowe Park Hospital. Refreshments will also be provided.
