Today is World Sepsis Day and throughout this week events are being held to raise awareness around sepsis.
There is currently a stand in the main entrance of Arrowe Park Hospital raising awareness about the life-threatening condition. Sepsis is hard to spot but kills 44,000 people a year in the UK.
Yesterday we were really privileged to welcome truly inspiring couple Tom and Nicola Ray (pictured in our Lecture Theatre) to raise awareness of Sepsis and share their emotive story through Starfish the film. Tom developed sepsis following a nick to the gum during a routine dental appointment, which led to a chest infection and Tom fighting for his life.
“Could it be Sepsis?” is a simple question that can save lives.
Come and chat to the team to find out more (they have some sweet treats on offer too!)
