Update: Departure of British citizens repatriated in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Message sent on behalf of Janelle Holmes, Chief Executive

Dear colleagues,

I wanted to keep you updated to let you know that the group of guests repatriated from the cruise liner in Japan departed from the accommodation block at the Arrowe Park site at the weekend.

The guests left us with a clean bill of health after testing negative for COVID-19. I want to thank you all for the fantastic support in recent weeks. The work between staff and partners in caring for these individuals has been fantastic.

The hospital has continued to run as normal and staff are asked to ensure patients still attend appointments. Please direct our patients and their families to the Public Health England website for up-to-date information and advice and if anyone has any medical concerns, please advise them to go to https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19 or call NHS 111.

The wider situation of COVID-19 in the UK is one that is continually evolving and I will keep you up-to-date on any developments.

Please also be advised that mask fit testing sessions will be arranged in the Education Centre over the next two weeks, dates and times will be advertised once confirmed. Training on the correct procedure for donning and doffing PPE will also be available. Any frontline staff who may be required to care for a patient with COVID-19 should ensure they have been fit tested for an FFP3 respirator mask. Further details can be found here

Face-to-face briefings will continue as I know people do have questions about the evolving situation of COVID-19. Please look out for dates and times of briefings which will be highlighted in future communications.

Kind regards,

Janelle Holmes,

Chief Executive
