All visiting is restricted across both Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge Hospitals, except for those with exceptional circumstances such as family of patients who are receiving end of life care.
The following exceptions also apply:
- One visitor allowed to support patients who may have additional needs due to a learning disability, autism, mental health condition or dementia.

- In Children’s Ward and the Neonatal Unit, visiting is restricted to one parent or carer.
Wirral University Teaching Hospital has restricted visiting in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19. No supplier representatives are to attend either the Arrowe Park or Clatterbridge Hospital sites unless the support or medical equipment is for the immediate and essential treatment of a patient. Service engineers can attend site for emergency work and planned servicing of equipment only.
Before visiting the visitor should contact the clinical area to discuss appropriate arrangements.
To ensure patients are as safe as possible, patients are also asked to please not leave wards for any reason, this includes going to meet family or friends within the hospital or within the hospital grounds. Thank you for your cooperation at this time.
