Hollyoaks star supports Rainbow Flower Appeal
Hollyoaks and Emmerdale actor James Sutton is urging people to buy a special Rainbow Flower in memory or celebration of a loved one, or in support of their local hospital in Wirral.
The funds raised from the Rainbow Flowers will go to WUTH Charity, which is the official charity of Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH). The Charity supports patients and staff at the Trust’s Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral Women and Children’s and Clatterbridge Hospitals.
TV star, James, backed the appeal with a special video message calling on people to pick up one of the limited edition flowers.
In the video message James said: “We are urging everyone to buy a rainbow flower for two reasons: first of all, to support your local hospital and second of all, in memory or in celebration of somebody special.
“They are limited edition so they will go fast but get one and support your local hospital.”

The Rainbow Flowers have already been brightening up the local area as part of temporary art installations at key locations in Wirral over the past month. They were at Arrowe Park Hospital, then at Clatterbridge Hospital and even featured as part of a Heswall in Bloom display.
Victoria Burrows, WUTH Charity Head of Fundraising, said: “During recent months the rainbow has become a national symbol of thanks and we thought it would be a wonderful idea to be able to pay a special tribute to people with this flower. The Rainbow Flower allows people to support the hospital and can also be a special symbol in memory of a loved one or to celebrate those who have overcome hardship during the past year.
“This unique flower has been really well received and as they are limited edition we would urge people to pick one up as soon as they can.
“I would like to thank James for his kind words of support and the community of Wirral for all the generosity they have shown in supporting WUTH Charity in recent months.”
