We have four breast surgeons, who are based at the Wirral Breast Centre at Clatterbridge Hospital. They are supported by five Clinical Nurse Specialists with three being full time and two part time. As well as one Cancer Care Coordinator and one Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

We are also fortunate enough to be supported by a wound care nurse a research nurse as well as two trainee surgical care practitioners.

The team will get together each week in which all patients with suspected or diagnosed breast cancer are discussed. Plans for treatment are then agreed.

The breast clinics are based within the Breast Unit. This allows the patient to be referred quickly from the screening department and also allows for diagnostic tests to be carried out on your first appointment with a breast surgeon.

Surgical procedures carried out by the breast team include mastectomy and breast reconstruction
