Equality Analysis

Wirral University Teaching Hospital is committed to ensuring that it provides fair and equal treatment to all, whether this is in the provision of services or in relation to employment matters. As a public authority, we are also required to have due regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity, and foster good relations when making decisions and developing policies. To do this, it is necessary to understand the potential impacts of the range of internal and external activities on different groups of people.

WUTH has a policy in place to support staff in completing equality analysis and completed assessments will be available for review. The policy requires analysis of policies, procedural documents, service developments and organisational change to understand any potential impact on people with protected characteristics (people from different protected groups) and to identify what actions can be taken to address potential negative effects.

The policy and process are, however, currently under review and therefore whilst this is taking place, please contact wuth.patientexperience@nhs.net for patient related assessments and wuth.engagementandinclusion@nhs.net for workforce related assessments.
