Sunflower

The Sunflower Network (Hidden Disabilities) is an organisation that aims to raise awareness and provide support for individuals living with hidden disabilities. Hidden disabilities refer to conditions that are not immediately visible or apparent to others, such as chronic illnesses, mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and cognitive or neurological disorders.
The main purpose of the Sunflower Network is to promote understanding and inclusivity for individuals with hidden disabilities. They use the sunflower as a symbol to discreetly identify individuals who may need additional support or accommodations in public spaces.
The network provides resources and education to businesses, organisations, and the general public on how to recognise and assist individuals with hidden disabilities. They offer training programs, guidance on creating accessible environments, and promote the use of the sunflower lanyard or badge as a way for individuals to indicate they have a hidden disability and may require assistance.
The Sunflower Network operates in various countries and aims to create a more inclusive and understanding society for individuals with hidden disabilities, empowering them to navigate public spaces with greater ease and without the need to disclose personal details about their condition.

The sunflower can take the form of a lanyard, badge, ribbon, card or wrist band for example.

Wearing the sunflower discreetly indicates to people around the wearer including staff, colleagues and health professionals that they need additional support, help or a little more time.
