Highlights from our 2022-23 period
- Total recruited was 488 patients
- We recruited 57 participants to cancer studies
- Total studies opened during period 16
- Total studies running 72
- Specialties covered was 15
- Highest recruiting study was STOP-RSV (a paediatric study to estimate the seasonal incidence of laboratory confirmed RSV among children under 3 years of age presenting with respiratory tract infection), which recruited 123 patients
- Top 5 recruiting sites nationally for the GenoMICCstudy, which recruited 46
- Highest recruiting site nationally in November for the ROSSINI study (reduction of surgical site infection)
- We have 8 research nurses, one research midwife, two members of the research administrative staff, and pharmacy, pathology and radiology support staff
- The new Wirral Research Collaborative (WRC) was created for Primary-Secondary-Tertiary collaboration going forward. The inaugural meeting was held in March 2023 and a strategic funding bid was submitted in February and we were one of a relatively small number of bids across the Network to be successful in being awarded funding specifically to support Patient and Public Involvement (PPIE)
