WUTH achieves 7th gold award in preventing accidents and protecting safety

Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) has received its 7th Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), demonstrating its commitment to the highest standards in accident prevention.

The Trust has maintained its gold status for the 7th year running in the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards, in recognition of sustained excellence in health and safety performance.

This achievement reflects the Trust’s continued commitment to maintaining safe environments for patients, staff, visitors and contractors, supported by a strong culture of continuous improvement.

Hayley Kendall, Executive Managing Director at Wirral University Teaching Hospital, said: “Achieving our 7th consecutive Gold Award reflects the dedication and commitment of teams across the Trust. Maintaining high standards of health and safety is fundamental to the care we provide. Keeping people safe whilst they are in our hospitals is essential, and this recognition demonstrates our ongoing commitment.”

The RoSPA Awards are a global scheme upholding the highest standards in health and safety. They are the world’s largest health and safety awards programme, with around 2,000 entries from organisations across nearly 60 countries.

The awards recognise organisations that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to protecting people from harm and preventing accidents.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Growth Director, said: “RoSPA congratulates Wirral University Teaching Hospital on its RoSPA Health and Safety Award. The high standards achieved are the result of hard work and dedication, of which the organisation should be rightly proud. As we mark 70 years of the RoSPA Awards, this achievement sets an inspiring example for the future.”
