Ultrasound

Ultrasounds (also known as sonographs) are considered a safe examination. They use high frequency waves to view the organs and soft tissue of the body to produce an image.

Ultrasounds normally take between 10 and 25 minutes depending on which examination you are having.

Having an ultrasound is by appointment only. If you cannot attend your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible on 0151 604 7165.

We offer ultrasound 7 days a week and are open:

Monday to Friday. 8:30am to 6:00pm
Saturday and Sunday. 9:00am to 5:00pm
Some ultrasound scans are carried out at Victoria Central Health Centre in Wallasey and St Catherine’s Health Centre in Birkenhead. Availability is limited, and as we do not have fixed clinic times, we will offer appointments at these locations as and when we can.
