About

The EXTEND study is looking at the antibiotic treatment of patients treated for serious abdominal infections.

The study aims to see if a fixed 28 day duration of antibiotics is overall better for treating patients with serious abdominal infections than shorter courses of antibiotics as decided by a doctor.

 

Eligible patients may be approached while they are an inpatient on the ward.
