Kidney cancer surgery

The PARTIAL study is a research study looking at the long term impact on function of the kidney between two types of surgery for kidney cancer.

 

The study will compare two different types of surgery:

  • Removal of the whole kidney, known as total nephrectomy, or
  • Removal of part of the kidney, known as partial nephrectomy.

 

Which surgery will I have?

You will be randomly allocated to one of the two surgical treatments.

 

Who can take part?

Eligible patients will be approached by their doctor at their clinic appointment.
