Pharmacy Service

At WUTH, our award-winning pharmacy team ensure that patients cared for in our hospitals have safe and effective medicines available to them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have a strong team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, assistant technical officers and administrative staff to support optimal use of medicines for our patients.

We have pharmacists and pharmacy technicians on the wards talking to patients about their medicines. Pharmacists on ward rounds who can prescribe and advise on appropriate medicines, doses or identify potential interactions with other medicines.

We also have support staff on wards carrying out stock checks and replenishing items to ensure they are available when needed. Pharmacy technicians and assistants dispense medicines and get them to the right patient at the right time.

Our highly skilled aseptic staff are responsible for the production and preparation of chemotherapy, intravenous antibiotics, intravenous nutrition and other injectable medicines.

Additionally, we provide a Medicines Information Helpline for patients should you have any questions or queries about the medicines provided by us.
