By Car
The hospital is clearly sign posted from the M53 motorway.
A car parking fee is charged at £3.20 per visit. Car parking is limited on the hospital site. Accessible (blue badge) car parking is available on the Arrowe Park Hospital site however there are a limited number of spaces.
Please note that most parking machines only accept cash, however, there is a payment machine at Arrowe Park Hospital that accepts card contactless and applepay payments. This machine is situated inside the main hospital entrance opposite the reception desk.
Visitors are also advised that there is a 15 miles per hour speed restriction at Arrowe Park Hospital. In the interests of safety for our patients, visitors and staff all drivers are asked to please refrain from exceeding this limit.
Travelling south
Leave the M53 at Junction 3 and take the third exit off the roundabout onto the A552.
Follow the A552 until you reach the junction at the Arrowe Park Hotel.
Bear right at the lights and continue onto the A551 sign posted Upton, for approximately a third of a mile until you reach the main hospital entrance on the left.
Travelling north
Leave the M53 at Junction 3 and take the first exit off the roundabout onto the A552.
Follow the A552 until you reach the junction at the Arrowe Park Hotel.
Bear right at the lights and continue onto the A551 sign posted Upton for approximately a third of a mile, until you reach the main hospital entrance on the left.
By Bus

Where possible, we always encourage our patients, visitors and staff to use public transport when coming to and from Arrowe Park Hospital.
We proudly opened a new bus interchange in 2015 which is used constantly throughout the day.

Parking at Arrowe Park Hospital

Wirral Hospitals car parking charges are free for those in greatest need, this includes disabled people, frequent outpatient attenders, parents of sick children staying overnight and staff working night shifts
For your guidance the definitions are as follows:
Disabled persons - Holders of current blue badges when attending our hospitals for treatment, to visit patients or when working within the Trust
Frequent outpatient attenders - A patient who is identified in advance as visiting as an outpatient for 3 or more times in a calendar month
Parents of sick children staying overnight - A parent or guardian of a child in hospital overnight may park for free between the hours of 1900 and 0700. This would apply to a maximum of two vehicles
Staff working night shifts - All staff of the Trust working night shifts can park for free between the hours of 1930 and 0830. A ‘night shift’ in this context must include working until at least midnight
Parking concessionary forms are provided by departmental managers. To obtain concessionary parking allowance the completed forms must be submitted to the hospital cash office
Disabled persons may use parking facilities in car park B at Arrowe Park Hospital or car park G at Clatterbridge Hospital and obtain free parking upon production of their blue badge at a hospital cash office
Wirral Hospitals will continue to provide free parking or other concessions to its patients, visitors and staff on the basis of their individual needs and local situation.
There are 300 free spaces available on car park A1 on a first-come, first-served basis. There is additional patient parking on car park B and N.

Pay Machines
A 'pay on foot' system is in operation with pay machines at the following locations:
• the main entrance to the hospital building
• the main lift lobby on the ground floor
• the entrance to the Emergency Department
• outside the Fracture Clinic
• near to the exit on car park B
Patients on certain state benefits can get charges reimbursed under the Hospital Travel Costs Scheme.

Inconsiderate Parking
Parking notices are issued at Clatterbridge and Arrowe Park Hospitals to control inconsiderate and potentially hazardous parking. Any vehicle (including blue badge holders) that are parked in non-designated areas will be issued with a parking charge notice for the sum of £70.
