Diabetes

The Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse has knowledge in the management of children and young people with Diabetes.

From diagnosis they provide home stabilisation that consists of twice daily home visits providing support and education until the family feels confident.

The specialist nurses provides education to nurseries and schools to educate staff regarding the care and support required for the children with diabetes. Education sessions are also provided for Nursing and Medical Staff.

Adolescent clinic is held on a Monday afternoon in the main hospital outpatients department between 13.50pm and 17.00pm.

At 11 years of age which coincides with your move to secondary school this service moves with you to clinic 4 in the main adult outpatient department at Arrowe Park Hospital.
