Nutrition and Dietetics
Welcome to the dietitian’s team at Wirral University Hospital (WUTH). Our small but experienced and dedicated team of dietitians are committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based nutrition advice and support to patients across a range of conditions.
Our team consists of highly skilled and qualified dietitians, each with their own area of expertise. We are registered with and regulated by the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). We use the most up-to-date public health and scientific research on food, health and disease which we translate into practical guidance to enable people to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices.
We work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide a holistic, patient-centered approach to care, and we are committed to providing compassionate and individualised support to each patient we see.
We are based at both Arrowe Park Hospital and Clatterbridge General Hospital and provide nutritional assessment and support for patients within a range of specialist services including:
- Diabetes
- Gastroenterology
- Kidney/Renal
- Nutrition Support (parenteral nutrition, critical care)
- Stroke
- Surgical
- General Dietitians provide support to respiratory, cardiovascular, orthopaedic, and DME wards
We also provide educational classes to support patients including:
- Pulmonary rehab education for patients with long-term lung conditions
- The gluten free diet for patients newly diagnosed with coeliac disease.
