CT Scans - Computerised Tomography

A CT scan is carried out using a special x-ray machine. It produces a cross-section (or slice) of the body. The scanner consists of a ‘doughnut-shaped’ structure which you pass through. This is called a gantry.
A narrow beam of x-rays is produced from the gantry which passes through the body. Images of the internal structures of the body are then produced.
Having a CT scan is by appointment only. They are available 7 days a week and are open:
Monday to Friday. 8:30am to 6:45pm
Saturday and Sunday. 8:30am to 3:45pm
